HD 558: the headphones I produce in and listening to the new Meskie Granie songs rn with. The 558, 559, 598, 599, all the same sound with a mod, are to me the headphones with the most clarity you can get, without needing a headphone amp. To me, a headphone amp is a hoop I'm not expecting you to jump through, so I don't jump through it to produce in. 558's are very accessible. The wired Apple ear pods also have great clarity and even more accessible. The 558's are special in a lot of ways. You can get backup pads, to always have a clean pair on. They are open air, so long sessions don't fatigue you.
